The Client

Jackie Tinkler is a Birmingham-based author and Christian life coach who serves women ages 50+ and has created a community both physically and digitally for these ladies to encourage and connect with each other over topics related to faith, connection, and life changes.

The Need

The client needed a site that could house general information, promotional materials, a space to request and access coaching services, the opportunity to share in community gatherings and upcoming events, a photo gallery, and a platform to sell her literature. The client also needed help solidifying her branding, and requested custom designs throughout the site.

The Solution

Branding

After discussing the message and goals in depth with the client, I worked to identify a color palette and general style for the brand. As for aesthetics and message, specific goals were to convey “sparkle,” hope, femininity, community, positive change, comfort, and encouragement.

Content

Based on these, I catered imagery and crafted custom elements and backgrounds for the homepage as well as each interior page. I set up connection opportunities throughout the site for social media and newsletter sign-ups, and worked to make each call to action inviting, friendly, hopeful, and encouraging. As for written content, I helped the client create, edit, and proofread each section of the site, ensuring use of an appropriate tone to match her brand and convey her message well. 

Challenges

The project was limited by the constraints of Squarespace; this proved challenging in terms of applying custom backgrounds and elements responsively throughout the site. Nonetheless, by the end we had a beautiful, specially built site that was fully responsive, encouraged connection, offered opportunities for business, and represented the client’s brand and vision to her satisfaction.
